Election Day is here and I Can't Sleep

Hopefully, y'all are sleeping, well I can't and apparently neither can the people of Hart's Location New Hampshire. I don't know what the future holds but Senator Obama won both this town and the village of Dixville Notch.... Is this the beginning of a pattern, or are these just not the patriots Governor Palin keeps talking about?

Here is my guess at the map tomorrow night

>2008 Election Contest: Pick Your President - Predict the winner of the 2008 presidential election.

I tend to think that Pennsylvania will actually go to McCain, because of the big mouth of Rep. Murtha, and the western half of the state... I hope I'm wrong, maybe my family in Philly will help Obama pull this one out.

The unfortunate thing I see for the Republicans is that just about every swing state has to go for McCain for him to win.

Couric v. Palin THE INTERVIEW

Every so often when I watch the news, the newscaster gives a warning about something so graphic it might cause people discomfort. Well, I feel that this video needs that same warning.

Palin Debate News

The Republicans appear to have the utmost confidence in Sarah Palin if they are doing this:

"At the insistence of the McCain campaign, the Oct. 2 debate between the Republican nominee for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, and her Democratic rival, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., will have shorter question-and-answer segments than those for the presidential nominees, the advisers said. There will also be much less opportunity for free-wheeling, direct exchanges between the running mates. McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive.

McCain advisers said they were only somewhat concerned about Ms. Palin’s debating skills compared with those of Mr. Biden, who has served six terms in the Senate, or about his chances of tripping her up. Instead, they say, they wanted Ms. Palin to have opportunities to present Mr. McCain’s positions, rather than spending time talking about her own experience or playing defense.
"

Talk about setting the bar low...

Cowboy Diplomacy... Not Again

Senator McCain has gone on the record saying the Iraq-Pakistan border creates a hard situation. Above, there is a map of the Middle East. It is filled with numerous countries Senator McCain please note the location of Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan. In case you did not know this Senator McCain, Pakistan and Iraq are not neighbors.

For those of you that think I'm just making this up, here is the video where he shows his foreign policy prowess on Good Morning America.

I appreciate that Barack Obama might not be the most experienced, but he doesn't appear to brag about things he does not know. Senator McCain goes on and on about how knowledgeable and experienced he is, and then goes on national television with a mistake like this. There might be some readers who think it is only one letter. Well, Iraq and Iran fought a war for eight years, and have significant differences. It might be a slip of the tongue, but it along with a few other statements shows a lack of preparation or cognitive ability.

While Senator McCain was in the Middle East this year, he made some significant mistakes on the stump. On more than one occasion, Senator Lieberman whispered in his ear to correct one gaffe or another. Can the nation handle another four years of arrogance and 'cowboy diplomacy'?

McCain doesn't even think he is going to win

"Could I mention the presence of my friend, Congressman Steve Pearce, who I believe will be joining me in the United States Senate?"

-- Sen. John McCain, quoted by Politico, apparently planning to still be in the Senate next year.

Let's Be Serious for a Minute

http://www.rockcitynews.com/photos5/antibushwar7/images/king-monkey.jpg

O.K., now that I've got your attention, can we please focus on issues for a minute. I’ve got problems with President Bush. Heck, everyone that knows me knows that. I don’t like his attitudes, or his policies. I don’t like the way that he talks, heck name it and I probably don’t like it about him. However, this picture is not what makes me think he is a tyrant.

I did not vote for Bush in either election, but something as absurd as a picture of him with a crown on had little to do with either vote. Does President Bush look silly with the crown on, sure, but that should not be the information that swayed your vote. His policy stances should have been the key. If you agreed with him, then you should have voted for him.

It pains me that silly photos played significant roles in two relatively recent elections. I am warning both candidates, please do not go windsurfing or riding in Abrams tanks for the next 6 months.

Please examine the stances of the candidates and then vote based on their policy choices, not a silly photo. Be wary of chain emails also. One I got said Bill Gates was testing a new email client and if I forwarded the email we would all get tickets to Disney World. I doubt most chain emails are much more reliable.
